High School Football – Special Teams Player of the Week Walter Ollie, Loras College Jr., DB/KR/PR, Pearl City, Ill./Eastland-Pearl City Ollie becomes the 84th player in the history of NCAA Division III football to return a kick-off 100-yards and is the first player this season to do so. Ollie’s 100-yard kick-off return ties the Iowa Conference record set by Trevor Shannon of Wartburg (November 16, 1996 vs Luther) and Greg Ortberg of Dubuque (October 9, 1999 vs Upper Iowa). He also tied the Loras all-time record set by Joseph Kerwick in 1909. In the process of his 100-yard kick-off return, Ollie broke the Loras single-season record for kick return yards (742) and tied the program record for kick return touchdowns in both a season and career (2). Ollie’s kick-off return occurred on the first play of the game as Loras would go onto defeat Coe 44-38. He totaled three KO returners for 148-yards and two punt returns for 11-yards. With two games to go this season, Ollie is in position to set the single-season record for kick return average, previously held by T.C.
