Football – Special Teams Player of the Week
Walter Ollie, Loras College
Jr., DB/KR/PR, Pearl City, Ill./Eastland-Pearl City
  • Ollie becomes the 84th player in the history of NCAA Division III football to return a kick-off 100-yards and is the first player this season to do so.
  • Ollie’s 100-yard kick-off return ties the Iowa Conference record set by Trevor Shannon of Wartburg (November 16, 1996 vs Luther) and Greg Ortberg of Dubuque (October 9, 1999 vs Upper Iowa).
  • He also tied the Loras all-time record set by Joseph Kerwick in 1909.
  • In the process of his 100-yard kick-off return, Ollie broke the Loras single-season record for kick return yards (742) and tied the program record for kick return touchdowns in both a season and career (2).
  • Ollie’s kick-off return occurred on the first play of the game as Loras would go onto defeat Coe 44-38.
  • He totaled three KO returners for 148-yards and two punt returns for 11-yards.
  • With two games to go this season, Ollie is in position to set the single-season record for kick return average, previously held by T.C. Crenshaw in the 1986 season (25.0)
  • This is the second Special Teams Player of the Week honor this season for Loras: Mason Quigley (9/24/17).
