Sommer was a major force for the Knights this season, averaging a team high 14.3 points per game (ppg), 5.7 rebounds per game (rpg), 5.7 assists per game (apg), and 46 steals while starting all 27 games. In league action, she ranked first in assists per game and steals with 5.5 and 35 respectively. Sommer averaged 15.2 ppg, 5.1rpg, and 5.5apg in helping Wartburg complete IIAC play at 15-1. She was the conference's Player of the Week three times this season, including last week when she helped the Knights capture the 2016-17 IIAC Tournament Championship. Sommer was also honored by the United States Basketball Writers Association as the Division III National Player of the Week for week ending February 26, 2017. In 2015-16 Sommer was selected second team All-Iowa Conference.
