Karly Olson is the second Central palyer to be honored as Pitcher of the Year, joining Megan Swingen (2009). From the circle Olson posted a league best 0.66 ERA. In 12 appearances, she went 8-2 with a league leading 46 strikeouts in 63.1 innings pitched. She was also the conference leader in opposing batting average (.145). In 12 outings, the senior led the league with allowing only (6) earned runs and ranked third in hits allowed (32). Additionally, she was named the leagues' Pitcher of the Week three times this season.
Overall in 23 appearances she finished 16-4 with a 1.76 ERA and 97 strikeouts in 127.1 innings pitched. In 21 starts she hurled seven shutouts to earn 16 victories. Olson's shutout mark ranks 14th in NCAA Division III while her win total ranks 29th.
