Anna Strien becomes the fourth Luther winner of Position Player of the year joining Lisa Huinker (2007), Kelsey Rose (2014) and Miranda McCay (2016). Strien led the conference's top hitting team with a batting average (.532) and on base percentage (.613). She was also second in RBI (26) and tied for second in hits (25) and Doubles (6). Her (.851) slugging percentage was third best, as was her (17) runs scored. As a team, the Norse led the IIAC in batting average (.362), on base percentage (.613), hits (165) and RBI (92). Strien was twice the conference Player of the Week this season.
Overall, in 42 games she is hitting .547 (64-117), which ranks third in NCAA Division III. She has scored 47 runs, 61 RBI, .627 on base percentage, slugging percentage .897, and 64 hits. In NCAA Division III, Strien ranks seventh in slugging percentage, fourth in runs batted in per game, second in on base percentage and RBIs, and 12th in hits.
