Rush, a senior, won the 125-pound Gold Division title at the Loras College Open. He opened the tournament with a 17-2 technical fall over Cornell’s Cole Mason, then posted major decisions over Wisconsin’s Matt Cavillaris (11-2) and Grand View’s Alex Peitz (14-3), before pinning NCAA Division II No. 6 Trevor Franklin with five seconds left in the championship match. The win was the 98th of Rush’s career and the 25th in a row for the defending NCAA Division III champion.
