Drew Van Anrooy earned MVP honors with a NCAA Division III Championship at 141 lbs. The Norse senior went undefeated in 2015-16 at 25-0. Van Anrooy became the 11th National Champion in Luther history and first since 2009 (Luther has won 13 championships with Jeff Bouslog winning in 1980 and 1981 and Matt Pyle winning in 2005 and 2007). His road to the title included a 10-2 major decision in the finals, a 2-0 shutout in the semifinals, and a 7-5 decision in the quarterfinals. It was no easy road for Van Anrooy as he defeated the No. 2 seed in the finals, No. 5 seed in the semifinals, and No. 8 seed in the quarterfinals. Van Anrooy finished his two-year run with the Norse with a 50-3 record and a 2015 runner-up finish to go with his 2016 title.
