Van Vleet, a junior, made four appearances last week, compiling a 3-0 record with an 0.00 ERA, three complete games, two shutouts and 14 strikeouts in 22 innings. As of March 8, she hadn't allowed an earned run in 31 straight innings and saw a streak of 30 straight scoreless innings ended in the seventh inning March 8 against Hiram. Van Vleet tossed one inning of relief in a 13-3, 5-inning win over St. Scholastica, walking one and striking out two. She followed that up with complete-game shutout performances over Westminster (Pa.) and Wheaton (Mass.), striking out three in each game. Van Vleet capped the week with six strikeouts in a 5-2 win over Hiram.
