Norris, a sophomore power forward, shot 68.2 percent (15-of-22) from the floor over the weekened and averaged 20.0 points as the Spartans opened the season with victories over North Central, Minn. (88-70) and Northwestern-St. Paul (85-81). He had 16 points, four rebounds, two assists and a block against North Central and 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting with five rebounds against Northwestern-St. Paul.
