Nielsen, a senior free safety, intercepted a career-high two passes, broke up two others and made six tackles (three solo) in Buena Vista’s 29-28 come-from-behind victory over Dubuque. He also out-jumped the return team to recover the onside kick for the Beavers that led to the eventual game-winning touchdown. It was the first time this season a Dubuque quarterback had thrown two interceptions in a game. The first came in Dubuque territory and was returned 27 yards to set up BVU’s first score. Nielsen’s efforts helped Buena Vista close out the season with four consecutive victories.
