Hookstead, a senior center, averaged 10.7 points and 7.0 rebounds while leading the Spartans to their first Iowa Conference Men's Basketball Tournament title. He scored a season-high 17 points and had 10 rebounds in a 73-60 championship game win over Wartburg and has anchored the league's top scoring defense (61.4 points per game) all season.
