Farrand, a junior, was named the men's Most Valuable Track Performer at the 2013 Iowa Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships after sweeping the 3,000 (8:43.86) and 5,000 (15:22.08). Farrand is the first Simpson male student-athlete to receive IIAC indoor track and field MVP honors. (IIAC Male Athlete of the Week)
