Whiting, a senior point guard, averaged 29.0 points and 7.0 rebounds to lead the Spartans to two victories to close out the regular season and secure the number three seed in the IIAC tournament. She scored 32 points in a 72-56 win at then-No. 6 Simpson, shooting 7-of-21 from the field and 16-of-18 from the charity stripe. Whiting also had 10 rebounds in the contest. The win was Dubuque's first over Simpson since 2004. She scored 26 against Loras in the regular season finale, extending her streak of 20-point scoring games to 15. Whiting enters the IIAC tournament ranked third in Division III in scoring at 22.6 points per game.
