Kies, a junior shooting guard, shot 51.4 percent (19-of-37) from the field last week, including 44.4 percent (8-of-18) from 3-point range, as Buena Vista picked up wins over Bethany Lutheran, Northwestern (Minn.) and Crown. She shot 8-of-16 against Bethany Lutheran with four 3-pointers for a career-high-tying 20 points. She added 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting against Northwestern (Minn.) and 15 in a 118-57 rout of Crown where BVU set a team scoring record. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
