Mirocha, a senior 141-pounder, won the title at the Simpson Invitational with five wins, winning seven matches overall last week to improve to 9-1. He opened the weekend with victories over Simpson's Jeff Sand (16-0) and No. 4-rated Ces Antista of Williams (3-0) in duals Nov. 30. In the Simpson Invitational the next day, he started with back-to-back technical falls over Northwestern (Iowa)'s James Maus (15-0) and Coe's Thomas Grisafe (20-4) and a major decision over Grand View's Tre Rutz (18-9). He scored a 3-2 victory over Antista in the semifinals before dropping Grand View's Gustavo Martinez by the same score in the championship match. Martinez was rated second in the NAIA.
