Herrmann, a junior, captured medalist honors at the 2012 Iowa Conference Men’s Golf Championships. Playing in an early group on the final day, he carded a final round 73 and then was forced to wait out the rest of the field – including all of the other leaders – to confirm his final position. After posting an opening round 82 in treacherous conditions at Bos Landen in Pella, Herrmann rebounded to finish 72-74-73 for a 301 total, three strokes ahead of third-round leader Tobias Kohl of Luther. Herrmann is the fourth Loras medalist since the Duhawks rejoined the Iowa Conference in 1986 (Tom Farrell, 1992; Tim Davis, 1998; Pete Weber, 2005) and the fourth Iowa Conference MVP over that same span.
