Whiting, a junior guard, averaged 22.5 points to lead the Spartans to a pair of league victories last week. She scored 16 points in a 65-57 win over Luther on Feb. 1, then erupted for 29 points on 10-of-17 shooting in a 64-58 victory over Loras Feb. 4. Whiting also scored her 1,000th career point during the week, reaching the milestone in only 71 games. The league's leading scorer at 16.5 points per game, Whiting has posted double-figure totals in scoring in 11 consecutive games.
