Hanus, a junior quarterback, completed 33 of 45 pass attempts for 418 yards and six touchdowns in Dubuque's 56-28 victory over Central. The six touchdown passes tied an Iowa Conference single-game record and helped the Spartans to their first 4-0 start since 1979 and their first win over the Dutch since 1987.
