Lucero, a sophomore, remained undefeated this season with three victories each in singles and doubles. She did not drop a game in victories at No. 2 singles or No. 1 doubles (with Michelle Schupbach) in dual victories over Buena Vista and Northwestern (Iowa) on September 17. The next day, she topped Luther's Cassandra Chalhoub 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles and teamed with Schupbach for an 8-5 victory over the Norse tandem of Cami Czech and Katy Lindstrom as part of a 5-4 Coe victory at Luther. The victory marked the first for the Kohawks on the indoor surface in Decorah.
