Oviatt, a senior pitcher, shut out Wartburg in nine innings of work, picking up a pair of wins as Simpson captured the Iowa Conference Championship. She scattered 11 hits and fanned 10 batters, giving her 398 on her career. The two wins moved her season record to 20-4, as she became the first 20-game winner at Simpson since Kelly (Schade) Fry won 37 games in the Storm’s NCAA Championship run in 1999. Oviatt also captured her third Iowa Conference title during the 2009-10 academic year. She was an all-conference performer on Simpson’s IIAC Champion volleyball team and a member of the Storm basketball team as well.
