Peterson, a senior, qualified for the NCAA Championships in two events at the Loras Mid-Week Invitational. He was a member of the winning 4x100 relay team that won the event and automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships with a time of 41.11 seconds. Peterson ran the second leg with a 9.97 split. He finished second in the 100-meter dash and provisionally qualified with a time of 10.80 seconds. He also finished second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.29.
