Finnel, a junior, won the unseeded University/College 800-meter run at the Drake Relays, becoming the first Kohawk to win an individual event at Drake. Her time of 2 minutes, 6.8 seconds — an NCAA automatic qualifying mark — is the fasted in NCAA Division III this season by four seconds and is the fourth fastest time in NCAA Division III history. She also helped Coe's sprint medley relay (3:58.3) break the school record at Drake for the second consecutive year. Finnel was also a member of a seventh-place 4x100-meter relay (48.12) that ran the ninth-fastest time in the nation and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships and a 16th-place 4x400-meter relay (3:57.4).
