Coleman, a sophmore, broke Central's 27-year old record in the 200-meter dash with a winning clocking of 24.69 seconds at the Washington-St. Louis Select Meet. Coleman broke the mark of 24.78 seconds set in 1984 by Nancy Cisar. She also ran on Central's winning 4x400 (3:51.9) and runner-up 4x100-meter (47.16) relays. All three times were NCAA provisional qualifying times.
