His 2-under-par 70 in round one at The Meadows Golf Club stood as the low round of the tournament and was one stroke shy of his Central career low. He tied with teammate Drew Osier (76-71--147) and Wisconsin-Stout's Andy Smith (72-75--147) for the low 36-hole total, but Osier captured medalist honors due to having the best final round of the three.
