Taxted, a senior, won the 125-pound Championship at the NCAA National Meet as the fifth seed. En route to the title, he defeated University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Davey Starks (6-2), Kings College’s Mitch Marks (5-0) and Central College’s Jeremy Hendricks (1-0). In the Championship Match, Taxted defeated Ithaca College’s Carlos Restrepo (7-3). Marks was seeded fourth seed in the Meet, Hendricks was seeded eighth and Restrepo was seeded sixth.
