Buttry, a freshman, turned in two provisional national qualifying performances at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse Invitational. She finished first in the 1500-meters in a time of 4:40.42, winning the event by nearly nine seconds. Buttry was also a member of the distance medley relay team that won by almost 19 seconds in a time of 12:26.59.
