Smith, a sophomore pitcher, posted a 5-0 record with a 0.78 earned run average in five games during the week. She surrendered 17 hits and four runs (three earned) in 27 innings while striking out 38 and walking just three. Smith pitched complete games in three of her four starts, and pitched three innings of hitless and scoreless relief in the Storm’s 12-inning victory over McKendree. In addition to the victory in relief, Smith defeated The College of New Jersey twice, striking out a combined 18 batters and allowing just two runs in 14 innings. She also picked up victories against #4 Muskingum (4-2), and Kean (8-0), striking out 11 batters in five innings against Kean. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
