Hysell, a junior pitcher, earned three victories against nationally ranked opponents in a 48-hour span. She won both games of Wednesday’s doubleheader against No. 22 Simpson and defeated No. 24 Wartburg on Friday. In the first game against Simpson, Hysell pitched a complete game, two-hit shutout, striking out six in the 4-0 Dutch victory. She started the second game of the doubleheader, pitching scoreless four innings, giving up one hit and striking out three. She completed the week with a 12-strikout complete game in a 4-1 victory over Wartburg that helped Central clinched the Iowa Conference title. For the week, Hysell pitched 18 innings, allowed one run (0.39 ERA) and struck out 21. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
