Gaard, a senior guard, averaged 15.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game, and shot 54.3 percent (19-of-35) from the floor in victories over Dubuque (65-42), Coe (61-43) and Buena Vista (78-67) to help Luther clinch its IIAC-record seventh women’s basketball title, first since 2002. Gaard scored her 900th career point as part of her 12-point performance against Dubuque. In that contest she also had four assists and three rebounds. She scored 18 points (on 7-of-14 shooting), had seven rebounds, six assists and two steals against Coe.
