Steenhoek, a senior forward, surpassed the 1,000 career point plateau with 43 points in two contests during the week. In a two-point season opening loss to Dordt College, she had 20 points on 9-for-25 shooting from the floor and 2-for-5 shooting from the free throw line. She also grabbed 11 rebounds (seven defensive), had an assist and a steal.
