CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The American Rivers Conference announced today the spring sport members of its 2018-19 All-Academic Team.
Three hundred and forty-eight student-athletes from the Conference's six spring championship sports met the requirements for recognition.
To be eligible for All-Academic Team honors a student-athlete must be on the eligibility list for the sport of nomination, at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least one year in residence and attain an accumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale).
Wartburg College led the way in total honorees with 59 student-athletes earning A-R-C All-Academic distinction. Nebraska Wesleyan placed the second highest total on the team with 52, while Coe was third, placing 40 honorees on the team. Simpson totaled 38 honorees for the fourth highest total and Central collected the fifth most honorees at 37. Dubuque had 36 honorees followed closely by Luther with 35 and Loras with 34. Buena Vista closed out the spring with 17 award winners.
Women's track and field led all sports with 102 student-athlete honorees. Men's track and field saw 83 award winners. With 71 recipients, baseball had the third-most honorees, while softball saw 43 student-athletes earn distinction. Rounding out the spring honorees are men's tennis (35), and men's golf (14).
