CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa --- The American Rivers Conference announced today that Coe College senior
Lauren French (Raleigh, N.C./North Raleigh Christian) has been selected Women’s Tennis Player of the Year for the 2018 season. The Wartburg College coaching staff of head coach

Marissa Buresh, and
Lane Luhring earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
French, earning conference MVP honors for the second consecutive year, capped off her senior season with a 6-1 conference record at No.1 singles and 4-3 mark at No.1 doubles. For the second straight year she also claimed both the A-singles and A-doubles titles at the conference's individual championship in early October. This is the third all-conference honor for French. Joining her as a top vote-getter was teammate
Isabella Hoppenjans (Edmond, Okla./Casady). At the A-R-C individual championship Hoppenjans was the runner-up in the A-singles and the other half of the Kohawk A-doubles championship pair. French and Hoppenjans were also named all-conference in both doubles. Hoppenjans went 5-0 at No.2 singles in league competition and 4-1 at doubles.
Eliza Sundermann (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Washington) capped off her sophomore season with selection to the all-conference singles team. She finished the season with a 4-1 singles record in A-R-C play.
Wartburg College raised the American Rivers Conference trophy for the first time in program history this season. The Knights also earned American Rivers Conference Coaching Staff of the Year for the first time in program history. Head coach

Marissa Buresh, and Lane Luhring led Wartburg to a perfect 8-0 mark in league play and an 11-0 overall record. The conference title also earned Wartburg hosting rights for the leagues' AQ tournament in the spring. The Knights compiled a combined doubles record of 21-3 in conference play and a singles mark of 41-7.
Wartburg junior,
Hannah Fox (Waverly, Iowa/Waverly-Shell Rock) led the Knights, earning her second all-conference accolades, as she was named to both the singles and doubles teams. Fox finished conference play with a 6-1 record at No.2 singles and a 7-1 record at No.1 doubles. Doubles partner
Ashley Rottinghaus (Mason City, Iowa/Mason City) was also honored to the singles and doubles all-conference rosters. Rottinghaus went 6-2 for the Knights at No.1 singles. The senior was earned honorable mention a season ago. Wartburg junior,
Lauren O'Brian was named an all-conference singles player after earning honorable mention in 2017. O'Brian finished with a conference singles record of 6-1.
Central's
Karleigh Schilling (So., Swisher, Iowa/Cedar Rapids Prairie) earned her second all-conference singles and doubles honors. Shilling finished her second year in the league with a 2-5 mark at No.1 singles a 4-3 record at No.1 doubles. Dutch senior,
Jenna Stewart (Burlington, Iowa/Notre Dame) was selected to the all-conference doubles team. Against league competition Stewart finished 4-3 at No.1 doubles.
Loras'
Audrey Hinz (So., Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert Catholic) picked up singles and doubles all-conference accolades this season after being named to the all-conference singles team a year ago. Hinz finished fourth in the A-singles flight at this year's A-R-C individual tournament. The sophomore Duhawk went 5-3 at No.1 singles and 4-4 at No.1 doubles during league competition.
Luther's
Britta Pressler (Sr., Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial), who earned all-conference accolades the previous two seasons and honorable mention honors as a freshman, sees her name atop the all-conference singles and doubles rosters again this year. She went 7-0 in singles and 6-1 at doubles during conference play. Luther sophomore
Devon Bourget (Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) earned both singles and doubles all-conference accolades this season. In 2017 she earned honorable mention doubles honors. Bourget took third-place in A-singles at this year's A-R-C individual tournament. In conference play she went 6-1 at No.1 singles and finished 6-0 at No.2 doubles. Also getting the all-conference nod to both singles and doubles teams was first-year Norse,
Shelby Cook (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy). Cook recorded a 5-1 singles mark during conference play and a 6-1 mark at No.1 doubles.
Kelsey Kruse (Jr., Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) earned her second consecutive selection to the all-conference doubles team. Kruse compiled a 6-0 record at No.2 doubles during league play.
Earning all-conference singles and doubles honors for the first time is Simpson's
Kayla Reusche (Sr. Waverly, Iowa/Waverly-Shell Rock). Reusche earned honorable mention accolades during her freshman and junior seasons. In her senior year for the Storm, Reusche went 4-3 at No.1 singles and doubles during conference play.
